A natação olímpica no Sena destaca os esforços para limpar os rios da cidade ao redor do mundo

Resumo

A um ano dos Jogos Olímpicos e Paraolímpicos de verão de 2024, Paris anunciou que reabrirá o rio Sena para competições de natação e depois permitirá a natação pública, pondo fim a uma proibição de um século. Essa proibição estava em vigor para impedir que as pessoas submergissem em águas de rios poluídas por águas pluviais, esgoto e produtos químicos.

Mas depois de muitos anos de trabalho de gerenciamento de águas pluviais, três eventos olímpicos e paraolímpicos serão realizados no Sena em 2024 – a maratona de natação e as etapas de natação do triatlo olímpico e do paratriatlo. O Sena também marcará presença na cerimônia de abertura, quando, ao invés do tradicional desfile dos atletas em um estádio, um desfile de barcos levará as equipes ao longo do rio.
