e apresenta uma visão geral das tendências desde 2000;
• apresenta conclusões sobre o estado global dos esforços de governança para a prevenção do afogamento e a legislação que aborda os fatores de risco para a prevenção do afogamento;
• apresenta uma visão geral do estado das principais ações e intervenções para a prevenção do afogamento;
• destaca as lacunas de conhecimento para orientar futuras pesquisas sobre a prevenção do afogamento;
• tem como objetivo fortalecer a rede de pessoas que trabalham na prevenção do afogamento em todo o mundo;
• fornece um parâmetro para avaliar o progresso na prevenção do afogamento.
